This way, you will gain information about the different types of conservatories available and will be able to make an informed decision on which style to choose.

How much will my new conservatory cost?

It will also depend on whether you choose to install heating, air conditioning, and whether you wish us to plaster the inside walls. There are so many options, but you can receive a free quote using our online quoting engine.

We can offer you a huge range of different styles that will enhance your home beautifully. Composite Doors

What is a composite door?

Composite doors are built for the exterior of your home. They are built using a mixture of materials and glass. Each material used in the makeup of a composite door is chosen because of their advantage regarding how long they last, how they are maintained, and the level of security they can offer.

Do composite doors have flaws?

No. The doors are built to be sturdy and long-lasting. They do not chip, split or crack like timber doors and offer much higher security than wood or uPVC doors. They require very little maintenance because they are not painted – the colour is injected into the door – so the only work that needs doing over the years is cleaning your doors and regularly oiling the moving sections of the door, such as the hinges.

How do I know which frames to use?

You can choose from the more common uPVC frames that are available in a variety of colours. The alternatives are aluminium-framed windows, which are long-lasting and slim in style. Another choice is a timber-framed window that requires more maintenance than aluminium or uPVC. A modern alternative is composite framed windows that require very little maintenance, and are extremely weatherproof.

Why are composite doors better than others?

Composite doors offer a completely new standard than any others. This is because the flaws found in traditionally built doors have been used to find materials that will not recreate those same flaws. They are stronger, longer lasting, and look great.

How long do you expect the doors to last?

If they are maintained as above, (Do composite doors have flaws?) then they have been tested by the relevant bodies to last around 35 years.

How do you price up composite doors?

We take into consideration the style, any security extras, the size and the colour. Our designers can advise you on the different pricing structures and make ordering your doors easy. You can use our online quoting engine for a bespoke composite door price.

Windows

How do I know that your windows are energy efficient?

All of the windows we supply come accompanied by what we call a ‘rainbow label’. This is information relating to the energy efficiency of the window and is similar to the energy efficiency rating found on home appliances, and even on HIP’s when you buy a new home. We will show you the energy rating when we visit you so that you can check that our windows are energy efficient.

How many layers of glass will I need?

Double glazed windows are layered with two pieces of glass. There is a small gap of around 20mm between the layers, which is filled with argon. This keeps your home insulated in winter and cool in summer. One of the layers is coated and is known as Low-E glass, which lets sunlight in and keeps heat inside the room.

How do I know which frames to use?

You can choose from the more common uPVC frames that are available in a variety of colours. The alternatives are aluminium-framed windows, which are long lasting and quite a slim style. Another choice is timber-framed windows that require more maintenance than aluminium or uPVC. A more modern material is composite framed windows that require very little maintenance, and are extremely weatherproof.

Do I need to choose ventilated windows?

If you have single glazing, and are replacing your windows with a double glazed option, then the new windows will be much more airtight. We can help you choose ventilation outlets for your windows if the room is not ventilated. This will help to avoid condensation issues when your windows have been fitted.

How long will it take to fit double glazed windows?

Typically, a detached house having all of the windows replaced may take around a week.

Will I need planning permission to fit new windows?

In some circumstances, yes you will need to obtain planning permission. This is particularly necessary if you live in a conservation area, or if your home is registered as a listed building. We will help you to obtain planning permission from the local authority.

Will new double glazed windows reduce my energy bills?

Yes. New double glazed windows are made to meet current energy efficient standards. Low-E glass will considerably reduce the amount of heat loss.

How much do new windows cost?

Double glazed window prices are based on the size, type and frame style. Should you choose self-cleaning glass then the price will be slightly more than typical glass. You can get a free online window quote with us, offering you an instant price, and we will talk to you about your specialist requirements when we visit you in your home.

Will new windows improve the value of my home?

New windows can help improve the kerb appeal of your home. As well as looking good, they can improve the energy efficiency of your property, which in itself can improve the value of your home, if you were looking to sell.
